February 9, 2020 Pebble Beach day 2

We again went to the tournament at the Pebble Beach Golf Course.

Just a little bit about how tournaments operate the spectator portion.
There isn't enough space anywhere near the golf course to accommodate the spectators. Those who wished to attend would need to ride to a central parking area, in this case on the property of the old Fort Ord.  There, people would go through a pre-check to identify items that are not allowed at the course.  If need be, they would have to take the items back to the car.  After that the people would then be loaded on to the buses (about 150 of them) and taken to the course.  The buses were often going through local roads that were off limits to regular traffic.  In this case, after we got off the bus, it was only about a 3 minute walk through security check and ticket check down to the area of the first Tee.

Miles of rope and people serving as crowd control only let you on certain areas of the course. People are provided detailed maps as to the location of each walkway, restroom and places to buy food and bleachers.  Also, Tee sheets are handed out so you can identify the player, and what hole he is on.
Some people will spend the whole day sitting in a particular set of bleachers so they can watch all the players come through.

This sign was displayed by the 7th Tee area.  The results of the PGA Tour charities is quite impressive.

Patrick Cantalay from just off the back of the 6th green

Phil on the 6th green putting for an eagle just after Nick Taylor chipped in for his eagle 3.  Although he didn't make an eagle. Phil ave a big smile after Nick got his.

You may have by now figured out who Tom's favorite player is...and for good reason.  On the last day, he saw several of these shots.  Video from pgatour.com website. Once you get to the link, scroll down to Phil's best shots at the 2020 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-AM  Phil the Thrill

It was a great 2 days getting out and walking on this special course.  Grammie enjoyed being here with her best Bud.

Thanks for watching out for Grammie.
