February 14, 2020 Muir Woods

Today, we drove to Mill Valley California where we planed to visit Grammie's niece and family.  Before we got there, we decided to go to Muir Woods which is only about 10 miles away.  Because the place is so busy at the beginning of school vacation week, we had to go online to reserve a parking place.

A slice of a Redwood Tree that dates back to 909 AD

There are several trails within the Muir Woods area  that give great opportunities for a walk...or a hike.

The view, looking up in the middle of the woods.  There are several trees that are over 250 feet tall.

Although there hasn't been a fire in this section of the woods, many of the trees survive a fire because of its thick bark.

To honor President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, many delegates met in Muir Woods to honor his work for creating the United Nations.

Can anyone find a 4 leaf clover?

Thank you for visiting the blog today.  Grammie had a nice walk in the woods with a friend.
