February 19-20, 2020 Ridgecrest, CA

Good morning Grammie fans.

For the last 2 days we left Visalia and headed down state to Ridgecrest where we will be staying with Tom's cousin Dan and wife Mary.

On the way down, we passed more and more trees in different stages of growth.

From the months, November to February, the almond tree farming process includes buds that need to go through cold weather and can be negatively impacted by a heavy frost. In late February and early March, the almond tree begins to produce blossoms that are ready for pollination.

Once we got to Bakersfield, we decided to go through the mountains to the east for a prettier drive.  This view below turned out to be the prettier drive...

that turned out to be 15 miles of turns through the stone mountains.

until be arrived in the town of Lake Isabella that had a nearby body of water named Isabella Lake.

After several more days on the road, it was nice to have a home cooked meal.  Thanks to Stan, Lisa and Mary, for providing us with home cooking.
