Feb 6, 2020 Santa Barbara

Today we did a little city touring. We did a tour of the Courthouse.  Even though the building is very old, (1929) there are activities that continue on to this day.  People can still get married there if they so choose.

Inside one of the chambers, the walls were completely covered in art work.

From atop the observation deck, one get an excellent view of the city, as well as the mountains where we went the day before.

Also in the city is the Presidio.  The building was constructed by Felipe de Neve, III Governor, to protect Spanish settlers and local mission communities.  Part of the Presidio was cut out to make way for the Museum to serve as a reminder of what went on during the late 1700's

For those that have never seen a banana plant, the bananas grow up.

Inside the Presidio is a Chapel, where religious activities were held.

On our way around the city, we came upon a humongous Fig Tree that spanned 176 feet in width.

Some of the figs had already started to ripen.

It was a wonderful day in the city.

Thanks for seeing where Grammie has been today.
