This afternoon we did the park and ride again to see the afternoon program.
The weather wasn't predicted to be nice and bright and sunny but we went and hoped for the best. We had tickets to the Chaser's Club which had tables with a good view of the field and included a meal.
This is the way the Fiesta was supposed to be today.
We went to the Park and Ride, got there early and spoke with someone who had decided to drive to the Fiesta. Three hours stop and go driving. She was glad to take the bus today. The pic below is a Liftoff "Zebra" waiting for something to do, but that wasn't to be.
There are entertainment areas for the young kids.
Breakfast burrito with green chili sauce... really? Yup
More things for the kids.
Turkey Legs...what do they do with the rest of the turkey?
We finally got to the Chaser Club and sat down to our meal included with the price....only to have the skies open up. It poured just as we were finishing our meal which was good timing. The only problem was that when the rain stopped, the activities for the rest of the day was cancelled.
A view of the Fiesta field from the Chaser Club.
A panoramic view of the liftoff field.
Plenty of seats and our own cash bar...closed shortly after the rain.
Corporate tents on the other end of the field.
Entertainment with our meal but at this time we had already eaten our meal. They still had plenty of cookies left.
We wish we had seen more balloons this afternoon but Saturday was absolutely the best as it was an opportunity we hope that everyone gets to see. If the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta isn't on your bucket list, make sure it is.
