As we were going over the Perrine Memorial Bridge that I mentioned yesterday, there were 4 jumpers getting ready to Base jump off the bridge. We pulled over as soon as we got to the other size and grabbed the camera. There is a target on the ground and each jumper was trying to land in the target.
Only 486 feet to the Snake River.
There is no time to free fall because of the short distance. In less than a second you can hear the chute snap open.
Aiming for the target.
Will he make it. Nope, he over shot the target by about 10 yards.
Back on the road and we passed Black Pine Mountain at 80 M.P.H. That is the speed limit on this part of the freeway. Around here they call it a freeway because it is.
More of the Sawtooth Mountain Range.
...and the rest of the range
On the other side of the valley we start seeing the Wasatch mountain range.
Mountains to the east of Pocatello, ID. If these were in your back yard you wouldn't have to ride anywhere to go hiking.
Even thout Mount Nebo is the highest at 11,928 feet fear not. You start climbing at about 4400 feet.
We finally arrived at Hill AFB and the mountains were magnificent.
Tom couldn't help getting the camera out and taking these last 2 pictures, but only after making par on the hole.
Just before sundown the colors in the mountains started to change. These next 3 were taken from the commissary parking lot, after Tom drove back to get the camera.
In the other direction, a couple of pics just after sunset.
Have a good day all.
Taps playing in the background, time to call it a day.

Tom and Alice- What a day of beautiful scenery. The mountains are so different from we have here, are majestically beautiful, and you captured that beauty for a lifetime of memories. Thank you for sharing. Travel safe.
