Yesterday we were at Ridgecrest, CA to see another cousin Dan and his wife Mary, and also my Aunt Fran. It was so good to see them again after 5 years.
This morning we left Ridgecrest and traveled all the way to Zion National Park. After traveling better than 400 miles, about all we saw at Zion was the visitors center. Friday we re-enter Zion with a plan...since the Senior National Park pass saved us the entry fee we can now wear down a pair of sneakers traveling the trails.
On our way through Las Vegas we managed to..........stop at Subway for lunch, gas, and hit the road. At the gas station, Tom put a dollar into the one armed bandit, won a dollar and lost 2 dollars. 1 minute and 9 pulls later it was all over.
On the way to Zion on the wide open road, Tom say a sign that read Photo Op, so after bringing the van to a quick gravel crunching stop, he jumped out in time to take a pictures of the Ostritches "playing TAG".
Tom likes the zoom on the camera, it really gets some great shots.
On the way through Zion to check in at Carmel Junction, we managed to take a couple of pics. The mountains were beautiful as the late afternoon sun was shining on the western slopes.
Right beside the road I just had to take a shot of this beautiful rock.
Another gravel crunching stop, I noticed some buffalo way out in the field. Hope they will be closer when we go back towards the park tomorrow.
