Great Pond 7-22-2017

The summer season is well underway and we have finally had a chance to gather as a family for a week at Great Pond.  It is a time where the phones don't have any reception and no internet...unless you hike on over to the Main Lodge.

Activities include fishing, biking, paddle boarding, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, puzzles, and board games.  The family gathered for at least one meal a day although we were all together for most of the day.

It was a great day for the main activity...swimming.  The water at Great Pond was over 70 and it proved a source of relief when the day heated up.

At times the small beach area at Bigelow cabin was very busy and well attended.

During mealtimes, the younger crowd was taken care of first...and then off to make more table room for the adults.  With 8 kids 12 and younger, the food went quick, especially at breakfast.  Each family took a turn at preparing a meal.

Paddle boards and a kayak for Drew, Meredith and Tyler.

Tyler showing his control skills in the calm water.

Family bookends... Bob, Joan and Tom

The fire pit at Bigelow is a great location for the daily fire as well as crafting the best s'more.

The main bridge from the Main Lodge to the campground on the other side.

Emmett waiting for his Dad to take him out fishing.

Dad arrives and away they go.

This year we had an Artist-in-Residence.  Tina, loaded with supplies kept the kids busy.

Thanks Tina

Board games and puzzles were a plenty.

Eli and Emmett, the 2 youngest, testing their casting skills.

Lake transportation...take your pick.  Dana's choice is obvious.

Meredith, coming back after a little exercise.

Addie and Ivy taking a lesson from Dana.

Emmett and Eli trying to clear the pond of Sunfish.

Drew coming back after a paddle to the rocks where he jumped off 35 times.

Caroline and Monica returning to shore after a bit of peacetime.

Evening was good for a story time.

Pool tubes made into a raft.

Fishing poles... and other equipment taking a rest

Aidan coming back from a fishing trip with his Grammie.

Garrett revving up the 16 inch wheels.

Eli and Trevor out fishing.

Dylan enjoying some quiet time.

and at the end of the day... all is laid to rest.

Where was Grammie...she was everywhere, mostly enjoying the gathering of family...and a book.
