April 3, 2016

Hi everyone.
After leaving Atlanta, we traveled  to Knoxville, TN to visit a college friend.  Jim and Sue put up with us for 2 days.  It had been about 6 years since we had visited last and it was great to visit again as always. Jim is a fraternity brother which makes it all more special.  They took us to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park where we had never been to before.  What a great park.

Inside the park there are many meadows that often have wildlife.  Today we saw deer and fox.

Not part of the park, but still in view, the state has legalized sale on Moonshine.  No we didn't stop.

On the way back, we passed through some well known places.  Does anyone know what Sevierville's claim to fame is?  Sevierville

After leaving Knoxville, we made our way to Siler City, NC where we visited one of Tom's high school classmates.  We were able to see Lewie for a couple of hours. After that we made it to Chapel Hill NC,  where we attended the wedding of Dan and Rachel.  The wedding was a lot of fun and the music and dancing was something that we hadn't enjoyed for quite a while. Great to be able to celebrate with friends from the hometown.
It incidentally was the same evening of the NCAA Final Four game that featured the hometown team.  They obviously won and as expected, the streets were crowded late into the evening.  Thousands were in the streets celebrating.  Since we couldn't drive down the street, we joined them.

A great view of the street could been seen from the TOP, but the waiting line to get in went down the street and around the corner.

A couple of small bonfires in the intersection wasn't about to bother the boys in blue.  Letting off a little bit of steam is a good thing.

Today we arrived at the Woodstone Resort at Massanutten where we will give the opening/closing of the suitcase a need break.  Grammie has already unpacked the 1000 piece puzzle we bought in Atlanta.  Maybe a finished picture later this week.
Thanks for keeping an eye out for Grammie's whereabouts.
